About Us

About Us (TEHEDO);

The most gorgeous school in Eastern part of Uganda.

(TEHEDO);

Tirinyi Education and Health Development Organisation (TEHEDO) is a local Ugandan volunteer group that started in June of 2009, with the aim to have a society with life skills, self-reliant and free from poverty TEHEDO was registered as a Community Based Organization in the year 2021. The organization is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children within communities in Kibuku district and beyond Uganda. The formation of TEHEDO was built on our desire to intervene in the early lives of underprivileged children including children with disabilities. TEHEDO provides the children with quality practical education allowing for full mental development to give them every opportunity for a bright future with promising professions. It is our goal as TEHEDO that every child has a prime chance of positively contributing to their community. On average, about 200 children were supported annually between the years 2010 and 2020. Our support mainly included; psychosocial support and care for orphans and rehabilitation of abused and neglected children. As the needs of the younger children began to outweigh the older, TEHEDO provides primary education. For that reason the organization established a school in one of the poorest areas in Uganda - Kibuku District. TEHEDO has grown to providing support to over 400 children each year. Through a participatory approach, involving local and community leaders, we identify the most desperate children and provide them with the necessary support from within our school where we focus on providing academic education in primary level. We also provide care, food and shelter for the orphans and other vulnerable children (OVCs). In addition to the regular curriculum, we offer support and training to the children and members of the community in the following areas;
a) Psychosocial development beyond vulnerability
b) Community Counseling
c) Nurturing support
d) Mentorship
e) Health care support for their families
f) Seeking out family support and connections through links to sponsors and supporters
g) Programs to build generous and sustainable futures in character and characters and livelihood.
h) Capacity building workshops on improved small scale production in agriculture, horticulture and livestock rearing to increase existing incomes.
i) Training mentoring and support programmes dealing with emotional problems caused by family neglect, HIV/AIDs, COVID-19, poverty and other forms of child abuse. .

Tripple.H. Community Primary school

Tripple.H. Community Primary school is located in Tirinyi Town Council in Kibuku district. Tirinyi town council is a rural based town council, hard hit with poverty which stands at 57% far higher when compared to the national average of 39%. (Kibuku District Planning Unit: 2020). This School, is the only one of its kind within the area. It is a community owned and community funded school. It was started in the year 2004. The school is too congested with very high enrolment figures since; it offers free education to the needy including orphans and other vulnerable children (OVCs).

The growth in enrolment of the needy children was occasioned by the HIV/AIDs and the COVID-19 pandemic which ravaged a number of household heads who in principle are the bread winners and, obliged to pay school fees..

Our Goal is to;

Physical Activities in our school

We always engage our children to parts pate in Physical education activities that begins in early childhood to demonstrate the value of cooperation, while being part of a team gives them a sense of identity. When teachers model prosocial behaviors, children gain skills that pave the way for healthy interactions and relationships throughout life. This teaches them essential communication skills and social skills to help them become team players, work alongside a diverse range of team mates and be able to support others.

Children's Books Library

TEHEDO is planning to have in future a lively, welcoming and well-resourced school library which will help give pupils positive experiences of books, computers and other media. It will help share the ethos and values of the whole school which is an effective and economical shared resource and a Centre for learning and literacy development.
The school library should promote equality, diversity and inclusion. Its role is to help create confident, enthusiastic readers and engage children in life-long learning. There is a clear link between the quality of a school’s library and the general well-being of the pupils and their literacy levels.

Love & Care for Children at (TEHEDO)

As TEHEDO we don’t make children happy when we simply enable them to be receivers of kindness. We escalate their feelings of happiness, improve their well-being, reduce bullying, enrich their friendships, and build peace by teaching them to be givers of kindness. This envisions the surrounding community to have hope for their children to study at TEHEDO when the see good practice of kindness.

TEHEDO School is pretty much a job that we give to children Like the jobs we have as adults it is the place you must show up to every day, even when you don’t want to go. The business of learning is work. It involves mental focus and self-discipline. That discipline is an important part of how school shapes children.

(AS TEHEDO FAMILY;)

The simplest way to make sure we raise literate children… is to show them that reading is a pleasurable activity, and that means finding books that they enjoy, giving them access to those books, and letting them read them .
